THE IISA
The International Inline Skating Association was formed in 1991 as a non-profit
organisation to advance inline skating as a recreational activity, competitive sport
and prosperous industry.
Through the support of the major inline manufacturers, retailers and thousands of
inline skaters, the IISA develops safety and educational programs, works to protect
and expand access to the public skateways, sponsors the National Skate Patrol and
sanctions events and competitions.
The IISA is recognised as the premier inline skating organisation and serves as
an inline skating information clearing house for media, trade and governmental organisations.
The IISA provides sanctioning and comprehensive liability insurance to event co-ordinators,
demonstration teams and race directors.
The Instructor Certification Program (ICP) operates independently as an international
program for inline skating instructor training and certification. The ICP also provides
continuing education, curriculum development, and insurance for inline skating instructors.
IISA INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The Instructor Certification Program (ICP) is devoted to the development of professional
inline skating instructors whose purpose is educating the public by the safest, most
