The IISA is recognised as the premier inline skating organisation and serves as an inline skating information clearing house for media, trade and governmental organisations.

The IISA provides sanctioning and comprehensive liability insurance to event co-ordinators, demonstration teams and race directors.

The Instructor Certification Program (ICP) operates independently as an international program for inline skating instructor training and certification. The ICP also provides continuing education, curriculum development, and insurance for inline skating instructors.
